Private Family in Spring Lake, NJ Seeking a Live-In Companion
( if you do not have prior experience, you will not be considered)

Position:Full-Time Live-In Companion (Alzheimer’s Care)
Schedule:Sunday–Thursday or Monday–Friday | | Live-In required (overnight stay included) ( you have to go home on your days off)
Salary:  

• Yearly salary:$130,000

• Schedule:60 hours per week

Start Date:ASAP
Benefits: 10 Days of PTO,
Relocation:No – local candidates or those able to relocate independently

About the Family

An elderly couple in Spring Lake, NJ is seeking a compassionate and dedicated live-in companion to provide support and companionship to their 75-year-old family member living with Alzheimer’s disease. The ideal candidate will demonstrate discretion, reliability, and extensive experience in memory care. This is a live-in position, five days per week, offering private accommodations and the opportunity to build a long-term, trusted relationship within a warm and respectful household.

• Home Size:3,000 sq ft

• Pets:None

• Household Staff: Other companions

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal care and daily routines, including dressing, grooming, and reminders for hygiene (e.g., brushing teeth)

• Prepare and serve healthy, home-cooked mealsdaily

• Provide compassionate companionship and mental stimulation suitable for Alzheimer’s care

• Ensure safety, monitor for changes in behavior or needs, and maintain a calm environment

• Light housekeeping related to the client’s daily needs ( laundry, vacumming, make beds)

• Drive to appointments or outings as needed (vehicle provided)

• Be present overnight for emergency support only(client rarely wakes during the night)

  Must be willing to travel within the United States

The ideal candidate is patient, proactive, and experiencedwith Alzheimer’s or dementia care. They are nurturing, calm under pressure, and confident managing day-to-day care needs with respect and dignity. A passion for senior care, a positive demeanor, and strong communication skills are essential. The family is looking for someone who is a long-term fitand will bring peace of mind, reliability, and warmth to their home.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience caring for individuals with Alzheimer’s or dementia in a private household
• Excellent references
• Legal to work in the United States
• Driver’s license with clean driving record (vehicle provided)
• Able to prepare healthy meals
• Willing to live in 5 days/week and stay overnight (private bedroom provided)
• Must be willing to work on 6 major holidays with time and a half pay ( Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, Memorial Day, Labor Day, 4th of July)
