Join a Team That Believes in What We Do

We're seeking curious, driven individuals who are eager to learn, grow, and lead. This is a great opportunity for those early in their careers who are excited to apply their academic knowledge in a real-world setting with a Fortune 500 health services leader. This role is designed to support your transition from academia to industry.

At The Cigna Group, we’re passionate about delivering customer-focused healthcare solutions. Our Sales and Contracting Development Program (SCDP) is an onboarding and training program for early-career professionals.

Network Track Experience

Associates of SCDP’s Network Track will build the skills needed to succeed in provider contracting and healthcare network development. As a Network Contractor you will help shape the future of healthcare delivery through provider partnerships and strategic contracting.

Associates will engage in a mix of virtual and in-person learning, including training sessions, fieldwork, mentoring, and coaching. The curriculum covers The Cigna Group and Cigna Healthcare, the insurance industry, and role-specific training.

You’ll participate in interactive sessions led by facilitators and subject matter experts, with potential for in-person collaboration and coaching. Field experiences will be hosted virtually or in your assigned market, allowing you to apply program concepts in real-world settings alongside your local team.

Post-Program Career Path

After completing the program, Network Track Associates begin their careers as Network Contractors, supporting their assigned markets. In this role, you’ll work directly with local healthcare providers—physicians, hospitals, clinics, and other healthcare facilities—to help deliver high-quality, cost-effective healthcare. You’ll review and negotiate contracts, initiate new agreements, and contribute to building strong healthcare provider networks.

As a Network Contracting Analyst, you will:

  • Establish, develop, and maintain relationships with healthcare providers (physicians, hospitals, clinics, and other facilities) to support local market strategy

  • Understand the competitive landscape and interrelationships of providers in your geographic area

  • Support strategic network development, including identifying opportunities for greater value-orientation

  • Participate in contract negotiations with current and prospective providers

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with teams such as Claims Operations, Medical Management, Legal, Medical Economics, Compliance, Sales, Marketing, and Provider Relations

Minimum Program Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled as a senior or a recent graduate from a bachelor’s degree program in Business Administration, Risk Management, Healthcare Administration, Economics, Public Health, Finance, Accounting, Health Policy, or a related business field

  • Prefer a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.

  • At least one internship or relevant experience in business operations, analytics, or process improvement.

  • Demonstrated leadership through work, student organizations, athletics, or community involvement.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and driving results through collaboration.

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite, project management, and financial analysis.

  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and active listening abilities.

  • Strong critical thinking, collaboration, and influencing skills.

  • Highly motivated, confident, and results-oriented self-starter.

  • Excellent customer service standards with a goal-driven mindset.

  • Able to manage multiple priorities and thrive in fast-paced environments.

  • Demonstrates integrity, professionalism, and a strong work ethic.

  • Multilingual capabilities and cultural adaptability are highly valued.

Why Join Us

  • Work for a Fortune 500 health services leader

  • Make a real-world impact from day one

  • Grow through mentorship, coaching, and career development

  • Be part of a team that believes in delivering high-quality, affordable care
