Job Description

OVERVIEW:

Directs, coaches, mentors, and trains security officers in the performance of their duties. This includes conducting scenario-based training exercises based on emergency procedures (bomb threats, fire and medical emergencies, workplace violence procedures, and terrorism response procedures) at ASC and AAC. This position requires a Security Site Supervisor.

SCOPE:

Responsible, under the general direction of the Security Operations Supervisor, for the security activities of the security officers assigned to shift. The geographic area under patrol and supervision includes ASC/AAC facilities in the greater Houston area. Supervises Shift Supervising Security Officers and other Security Officers assigned to these facilities and locations.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

• Conducts training/scenario exercises based on emergency responses (Bomb threats, fire emergencies, medical emergencies, and terrorism responses). 
• Performs coaching, counseling, and maintains all associated documentation. 
• Supervises the security activities of all officers assigned to shift. 
• Makes on-the-spot judgements relating to incidents occurring on posts. 
• Assigns and schedules patrol coverage of security officers.
• Performs other miscellaneous duties as directed.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• High school graduate or GED equivalent.  Must be able to complete courses of study as prescribed by the Texas Commission on Private Security (TCPS)  and be qualified to carry firearms.
• Ten (10) years experience in industrial security, military police, or law enforcement operations.  Five (5) years supervisory experience (previous supervisory experience in Security Operations is highly preferred)
• Must be able to communicate and comprehend accurately, clearly and concisely in English at a level required to perform the job as outlined.
• State certification, CPR, and first aid training desirable.  Must have dependable work history and background.  Must possess good human relations and supervisory skills and have the ability to handle stressful situations.  Must possess good work habits, a strong work ethic, and be able to adhere to company work hours, policies, and standard business etiquette.
